DRAFT, FOR REVIEW: Draft privacy policy. Dave to review, and ideally have checked against the Australian Privacy Principles, before launch.

Privacy policy

Last updated: [DATE TO CONFIRM]

This policy explains how Our Website Guide ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use ourwebsiteguide.com. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. When you click an affiliate link, the company you visit (for example a hosting provider) may set its own cookie so it can credit us with a referral. Those cookies are set by that company under its own privacy policy, not ours. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.

How we use information

To run and improve the site, work out which guides need updating, reply to messages, and measure which recommended tools readers find useful. We don't sell personal information.

Who we share it with

Our service providers: Google (analytics), Cloudflare (hosting, security and analytics) and our email provider. Some of these store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing hello@ourwebsiteguide.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We'll update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top.
